Course Reviews

Par Puppies is based out of Metro Atlanta and there are about a dozen courses within an hour of the city that we play. Below I'll provide a basic review about the courses I've played as well as a link to the DGCourseReview page so you can look over their full details.

Atlanta Courses

Perkerson Park ✦✦✦✦✧

Fun, challenging course with mostly wooded holes and a couple water hazards (but easily retrievable). However, I wouldn't recommend for beginners due to its complexity. There are short and long tee pads for most holes, which allow you to choose your difficulty!

Frog Rock ✦✦✦✦✧

Great summer course due to it being almost completely covered by tree canopy! On the other hand, this also means you have to hit your gaps. The other nicety is the long/short tee pads with permanent pin locations for each, which can provide a different experience each time!

Redan Park ✦✦✦✦✦

Easygoing course through the woods with a handful of semi-open holes all having quirky titles! The par posted on the tee signs is 65, but adjusting for where the sport is now, 55 should be considered the true par.

Boundary Waters ✦✦✦✦✦

There are three courses. // BW1 (yellow baskets) is a lengthy course with some long par 3s (400'+) among par 4s that require pivotal placement shots. // BW2 is a technical course that hinges on tight fairways and punishing woods if you miss your line. // BW3 is newly developed and I haven't played it.

Alexander Park ✦✦✦✦✦

My favorite course because of it's balance between playing in and out of the woods! This is a great beginner course as it touches on the fundamentals of open holes and teaches the dangers of the woods.

Chattahoochee Pointe Park ✦✦✦✧✧

Simple yet stretched out course at a whopping 7300' when playing long tees (talk about a hike)! Mostly open with mowed fairways, but landing in the tall-grass rough can lose lots of time searching for discs.

East Roswell Park ✦✦✦✧✧

Grueling course laid in dense woods with very tight fairways. The upside to this course is the triple tee pad options! There's a white, gray, and black tee-pad for each hole, which really lets beginners up to pros play at their level.

Oregon Park ✦✦✦✧✧

This is a really enjoyable and pretty course set over some of Georgia's rolling hills while diving in and out the forest. With two permanent tee pads and pin locations, you have full control over which of the four options you want to play! There's over 3000 ways to play it!

Suwanee Creek Park ✦✦✦✦✧

One of the shorter 18 hole courses in Metro Atlanta that puts you through a densely wooded forest, requiring technical finesse upon a rigid foundation of the sport; upshots & putting will play a key part in scoring well here. This is also a great summer course because of the wet and wooded environment!

Little Mulberry Park ✦✦✦✦✧

This course is deceivingly difficult and if you don't play it right, you'll end up with a few disastrous holes that tank your score! While I wouldn't say it's the hardest of the bunch, it plays much tougher than it appears.

Recommend a Course!

I know there are many more courses in and outside the metro Atlanta area that I haven't played or even heard of. If you didn't see a course that you love on the list, please send me your recommendations!
